The ayame or iris along the shore lend their name to this reservoir constructed in a high and cold region at an elevation of 1,000 meters, and the flowers bloom spectacularly from June to July. There in the cool and quiet highland air, the scenery of the changing seasons is reflected in the mirror-like surface of the reservoir, a delight to the eyes of sightseers who come here.
